SMART
Sical Multimodal and Rail Transport Limited (SMART) is the rail logistics wing of Sical. SMART is in possession of category I license which grants it permission to ply container trains throughout the Indian Railways network in both EXIM and domestic segment.
Rakes and Terminals
SMART owns seven rakes of 45 BLC wagons each. While 630 intermodal containers are part of its infrastructure another 1000 containers have been leased out. SMART is in the process of building two rail linked terminals at Bangalore and Chennai.
Shared Train Gain
SMART working in tandem with other operators offers shared train services to its clients. Shared train services allows for transportation of partial loads that are aggregated together. This is time saving and cost effective especially for regular customers with smaller consignments.
SMART Solutions
SMART offers a wide range of customer specific, multimodal and end to end logistics solutions. It also aims to develop rail terminals across important locations in India. Cutting costs to the customer, the rail logistics involves partnering with other service providers and use of common terminals that are open to all freight operators.
The Routes
Sical’s rail logistics covers the golden quadrilateral and is considered to be one of India’s largest container train operators in the private sector. The vertices of Sical’s rail network are Chennai to Patli in Gurgaon, Daurai in Rajasthan to Chennai, Morbi in Gujarat to Chennai and Raipur in Chhattisgarh to Ghatsila in Jharkhand.
SMART Services
SMART offers robust and reliable container train solutions. In addition it offers rail based transit facilities like ICDs and DCTs with first and last mile connectivity. The company provides visibility and control across supply chain.
